midtown dentist

Most tourists feel compelled to put the camera between themselves and whatever is remarkable that they encounter. Unsure of other responses, they take a picture. This gives shape to experience: stop, take a photograph, and move on. The method especially appeals to people handicapped by a ruthless work ethic: Germans, Japanese, and Americans. Using a camera appeases the anxiety which the work-driven feel about not working when they are on vacation and supposed to be having fun. They have something to do that is like a friendly imitation of work: they can take pictures. – Susan Sontag

midtown dentist

i scheduled an appt at midtown for a general cleaning. i have not done any cleaning since i started braces treatment and after taking them off. i felt nervous, what if i have hidden cavities? how can i know if they're real and my dentist was telling the truth.

i waited an hour before i was called into the room. they did a full scan of my teeth again, even though i just did the same thing yesterday.

it was some time before the actual dentist showed up. she was very efficient, picked on some of my teeth and started explaining i have some small cavities due to my braces treatment and my lack of flossing.

she seemed trustworthy and showed me what it would cost, and agreed. the entire treatment and procedure was pretty painless, although i was clueless on what was happening the entire time.

this was what i noted down while sitting on the chair.

  • UL ANTIBACT IRR/QUAD
  • UR ANTIBACT IRR/QUAD
  • LL ANTIBACT IRR/QUAD
  • LR ANTIBACT IRR/QUAD
  • SCALING IN PRESENCE OF GENERALIZED MODERATE OR SEVERE GINGIVAL INFLAMMATION
  • TOPICAL APPLICATION OF FLUORIDE VARNISH
  • ORAL HYGIENE INSTRUCTION

i just know in the end i was charged 320 dollars for the cleaning, cavity filling and laser.

after leaving, i started looking into reddit and other sources about whether i was scammed. i read how dentists would scare you into useless procedures for insurance scams, and i felt hopeless. i wish i could go back Malaysia for things like these.

moved into an airbnb near the office since my time at sentral was up. i no longer have to endure cold showers.

  • boris yeltsin, newly elected leader of Soviet Union visited Johnson space center in houston in 1989, he made an unplanned stop at Randall's grocery store and was in awe of how many varieties. it shattered his view of communism, and two years later left the communist party and began making reforms to turn the economic tide in Russia.
    • “When I saw those shelves crammed with hundreds, thousands of cans, cartons and goods of every possible sort, for the first time I felt quite frankly sick with despair for the Soviet people,” Yeltsin wrote. “That such a potentially super-rich country as ours has been brought to a state of such poverty! It is terrible to think of it.”
  • dentists check for cavities by poking with a metal pick, if its soft and sticky its decay. black lines on the grooves of your teeth could just be stain from coffee
  • septic shock: pneumonia is bacteria in lungs, this creates toxins, causing blood vessels to dilate, reducing pressure, causing heart and organs to fail
  • fentanyl is dosed at micrograms
  • sickle cell is where your blood cells are irregularly shaped, and it blocks up vessels causing immense pain
